bob-esposito > Having been found wandering in Brooklyn's Prospect Park, when Albie arrived at the farm he displayed evidence of having been hog-tied. Hog-tieing severely restricts blood circulation to an animal's legs and last year a portion of Albie's front-left leg had to be amputated.

Albie now walks with a prosthetic leg which needs to be put on and taken off daily. Albie has grown out of several prosthetic legs and is presently on his fourth prosthetic leg.

These photos show Albie being fitted with one of his prosthetic legs by farm directors Jen and Doug.

bob-esposito > This is Albie's third prosthetic leg. A velcro strap has been worked into the new design to help keep it from falling off. The strap wraps around the body and is attached to the other front leg. A portion of the strap attached to the other leg can be seen in the photo.
