bob-esposito > There are always a few animals at the farm that spend their day around the central lawns, paths, barns and courtyard. These animals are not assigned to any single pasture. These are the farm's "FreeRangers".

The Mooch Factor runs high with all FreeRangers. They know that chances are good that where there is both food and passing farmers they are just one eye contact away from getting something extra to eat.

This was a typical Sunday afternoon. Two visitors (left) happen upon Amber handing out some treats to FreeRangers Olivia, Albie and Clover.

But we're just beginning here.
bob-esposito > mooch
Slang.
–verb (used with object)
1. to borrow (a small item or amount) without intending to return or repay it.
2. to get or take without paying or at another's expense; sponge: He always mooches cigarettes.
3. to beg.
4. to steal.
5. to beg, borrow, bum, bumoff, freeload, leach off, scrounge or sponge peanuts, sweet feed, alfalfa cubes or produce of any variety from any living animated organism within physical reach or sphere of manipulative influence.

bob-esposito > The young girl is wise. This could get messy. And juicy. And sticky. And slobbery.
bob-esposito > I don't know how this box of produce reached the picnic table but the visitors have become caught up in the mooch. Olivia and Clover meet opportunity with preparedness.
bob-esposito > The visitors have moved the box to higher ground so Clover has moved Clover to higher ground.

Olivia circles right in a double cut back maneuver.
bob-esposito > Clover goes high and Olivia goes low. Albie cuts off the visitor's western flank of exit.
bob-esposito > Rebecca (at left without violin) arrives as does a third visitor. The produce is now flying out of the box.
bob-esposito > Felix the Lamb (left foreground) pulls in for a stopover on his way from eating all the hay bales and Amber returns from wherever she went.

We're running at full mooch now and the box of produce is on it's way to becoming a box of nothingness.
bob-esposito > Felix the Lamb is the newcomer to the FreeRangers so he is 4th in the mooching order. He has to wait for the right opening and not appear too pushy. One false mooch and he could be put on double-secret probation by the goats.

How would you like to be a fluffy lamb put on double-secret probation by three goats with messy green faces?
