Albie : When a goat is near slaughter time, the hooves are routinely tied together. Circulation matters little to the buyer or seller of the animal as the animal's time is short. Albie was near slaughter time when he came to the farm and showed signs of leg-tieing which caused one hoof to become infected. Part of the hoof eventually had to be amputated. Albie now mostly uses three legs to hobble around though there is a very good chance that he will soon use the amputated hoof to an equal degree. New York City Marathon runner Martin Rowe raised nearly $10,000 to cover Albie's medical bills as well as for health care for other animals at the farm.

Brooklyn Goats Move to Medical Isolation : Joey (a baby goat), Joy (Joey's mother), Jack (Joey's father) and Jacob are four Goats that came to the farm this summer rescued from an illegal slaughterhouse in Brooklyn. It was discovered that the Goats had mange and other diseases which could spread to the other animals and required them to be moved to medical isolation at a different part of the farm. These photos show the transfer.
